Leisa Hood (née Muir)
Tutors were knowledgeable, helpful and ready to listen to our difficulties and concerns; placements were varied and valuable, and the training well planned out. Since completing my NNEB, the first interview I went to, I was offered the post that same day ! Then one year later, I went on to further my career and undertook a Hospital Play Specialist Course at another College. I immediately noticed the difference in standards which were definitely much lower than those which we had known. I only wish we had had the same Course Tutor ! I went on to set up and run a private nursery within an independent school for 2-3 year olds, and once again it became evident that the standards of candidates for the nursery were not that of my training College. It therefore proved difficult to employ staff who I felt would be able to demonstrate the necessary high standards for which I was looking. In conclusion, I would like to say that I feel most fortunate to have had the high standard of training which we were given by our Course Tutor and her staff, and I know it went a long way in ensuring me a respected place in today’s work force. A few quotes from past employers’ references, for which I owe my gratitude to my excellent training: “ Leisa is the best in the business” “ Her standards of care and education were out of this world. We will miss her..” “Creative and full of fun” “Loving and caring at all times no matter what the situation” “Leisa was professional with all her staff, peers, parents and governors and proved an asset to the school. We owe her many thanks for the huge success of the nursery” |
