Sarah Gathercole

Throughout my Nursery Nursing training, I received valuable training both in College and out in the work environment, covering all aspects of working with children including infant and primary schools; nurseries; families; hospitals and special needs - each providing an excellent range of experiences.

The theoretical knowledge included child development from 0 - 7 years 11 months, covering the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of children, along with other topics such as learning through play, creative art, equal opportunities, communications and much more.

We also had practical days in College learning the techniques of baby bathing, nappy changing, artificial feeding, bed and cot making, hygiene and nutrition.

During my time at College, I feel not only did I have a good foundation into my chosen career but gained confidence and developed important life skills.  I would recommend it to anyone considering a career in Child Care.
